Optimistic Labs | Faith

What you believe should be visible in everything you do.

Faith Lab helps faith-based organizations close the gap between their values and their work, through honest assessment, intentional design, and gatherings that actually mean something.

Who we work with

Built for communities rooted in purpose.

Most organizations don't have a mission problem. They have a gap problem. The mission is right. The values are real. But somewhere between the statement on the wall and the program on the calendar, something is getting lost. Faith Lab works with synagogues, churches, mosques, interfaith coalitions, and faith-adjacent nonprofits navigating questions of identity, direction, or design. We're a good fit whether you're in a moment of transition or simply ready to be more intentional about what your organization communicates, through its programs, its culture, and its gatherings.

What We Do

Three ways we can work with you.

01

Strategic Alignment

A structured review of your mission, vision, and values alongside your current programs and member experience. We surface the gaps: where stated values aren't showing up, where programs have drifted, where new priorities haven't been integrated, and deliver a clear picture and a concrete set of recommendations.

02

Experience Design

For any convening, whether it's a board retreat, a community gathering, a conference session, or an interfaith dinner, where you want the experience itself to do more than fill a room. We design and facilitate from the inside out: space, flow, transitions, and programming working together so that every element serves the goal. The format is flexible. The intentionality is not.

03

Fractional Support

An ongoing, trusted outside voice to help leadership navigate strategically, whether navigating an emerging conflict, a programmatic decision, or a major operational shift on the horizon. A light-touch, high-value relationship that keeps the work alive over the long-term.

How We're Different

Principles we work by.

Not a methodology we impose, but the beliefs that shape every engagement, from the first conversation to the work you carry forward without us.

01

We design from the inside out

We don't separate logistics from programming. The room, the flow, the transitions, the moment someone walks in the door, all of it is part of the design. How a gathering feels is not an afterthought to what it's about. It's how the work actually lands.

02

We work toward our own obsolescence

We build capacity, not dependency. The point is to leave you able to keep doing this work without us, with practices and frameworks your own people can carry forward. Success means you need us less over time, not more.

03

We bring the outside in

A neutral perspective lets people see themselves and their community clearly, sometimes for the first time. The outsider can be a mirror, naming what's true in the room without an agenda inside the disagreement. That clarity is hard to reach from within.

04

We bring lived expertise inside

We're practitioners who know faith-based and values-driven organizations from the inside, not consultants reading from a manual. We understand the texts, the tensions, and the stakes, and we meet your community where it actually is.

Let's start with a conversation.

Every engagement begins with a call: no agenda, no pitch. Just a chance to understand where your organization is and whether Faith Lab is the right fit.
