Privacy Policy
Who we are
Optimistic Labs ("we," "us") helps organizations design and build communities. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email us at hello@optimisticlabs.com.
Information you give us
- Contact form. If you send us a note, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide, and we use them to respond to you. The form also asks which of our labs you're interested in. If you check the box to hear from us, we also add your name and email to our mailing list, managed through our email provider, and tag it with that interest so we can send relevant updates.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is collected and managed through our newsletter provider so we can send you the newsletter.
- Booking a call. If you book a call, your details are handled by email or by our scheduling provider so we can hold the meeting.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this site, such as which pages are visited and how visitors arrive. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and receives technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. Like most websites, some technical information is also processed by the other third-party services that make this site work:
- Hosting. Our web host may keep standard server logs.
- Analytics. Google Analytics collects usage statistics about the site. Analytics only loads if you accept the cookie banner; change your choice at any time. You can also opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Fonts. Typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts load.
- Newsletter embeds. The newsletter feed and signup form on our homepage are provided by Supascribe.
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy.

How we share it
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above (hosting, fonts, newsletter, and scheduling), when required by law, or with your consent.
How long we keep it
We keep correspondence and subscriber information only as long as needed for the purposes above, for example, until you unsubscribe from the newsletter or ask us to delete your information.
Your choices and rights
- You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@optimisticlabs.com.
- Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. We honor valid requests under those laws.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
